Water’s journey
Kane County relies on the Fox River and groundwater for its water supply. Local water systems draw water through intakes, boreholes, pumps, and pipes, treat it to U.S. EPA Safe Drinking Water Act standards, and distribute it to the community.
Residents who are not connected to public water systems rely on private wells, most of which draw on shallow groundwater aquifers.

Water use calculators
We have developed calculators so that you can better understand how much water you use. The water calculators are for information only, are based on averages and national data, and are not meant to reflect exact water use.
