Water’s Journey
Kane County relies on Fox River water and groundwater for water supply. Water systems collect this water using intakes, boreholes and/or pumps and pipes, treats it to U.S. EPA Safe Water Drinking Act standards, and distribute it to water users in the community.
Residents who are not connected to public water systems rely on private wells, most of which draw on shallow groundwater aquifers.
